Hard reset on Palm Centro

I always forget this...

  1. take off battery
  2. hold red power button & insert battery
  3. palm logo appears, and scroll bar creeps along...  keep holding.
  4. screen blanks, palm logo re-appears
  5. let go of power button now!
  6. reset instructions on screen, press up (yes, oui, ja, etc..)

Hi, I try but when the logo comes up the 2nd time I release the up key, then nothing shows up. It freezes on the 2nd logo. No instruction shows up.

re previous comment; can only suggest you try it again. It does take a knack, but usually when you get it wrong (ie you don't let go at the correct time), it will boot normally.
If it's freezing on 2nd logo, sounds like normal boot isn't working either - and perhaps something else wrong..?

I press and hold during the first logo, then the screen turns white and no second logo appears.

And you really have to HOLD onto the UP button for a few seconds. On mine, I just pushed it for a short time, and it booted up normal without resetting. If you hold it down for 2+ seconds it should work fine.

Hold does indeed mean "do not let go", at least until step 5.
