A loose collection of helpful stuff that i've found while solving day to day problems. [March 2016] You may have noticed I haven't posted updates for a long, long time. Curiously, I still get the odd comment on a post that's 7 years old, so i'll leave this little lot here and not delete it.

Nintendo DS & Wifi
Wifi network is open, restricted by mac filter, and usually hidden (i.e. SSID not broadcast).
It's a UK Netgear DG834G with v31 firmware.
Unfortunately, Nintendo DS can't find hidden networks - broadcast SSID and it's ok.
For open networks, leave the WEP key empty (kind of obvious I suppose)

Nintendo DS & Netgear DG834G
Easy enough, it found the SSID easily enough, and i've got no WEP on.
However, I do have MAC filtering on. The error given - 51300 - is explained on the Nintendo Wifi site as a WEP problem.
It's not, it's because the MAC address of the DS isn't allowed. Find it on the DS, and copy into the routers settings under wireless page.
Router is set to b & g mode also...
Easy.
